Sleep With Me Episode Two

SLEEP WITH ME EPISODE TWO & THREE

Continue from Episode ONE

O my goodness, thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes, the prayers and all, y’all made my day so special yesterday, may happiness and celebration never depart from your homes in JESUS, AMEN.

The children ran into the room, jumping into their mother’s arms, giving her a kiss then doing the same to their father.
“So were you two good for Grandma?” he asked, still holding Anna-Lisa in his arms.

“Yes daddy,” the little girl said and chattered on about everything they had done. Lorenzo rolled his eyes at his sister.
Paige sat back, smiling when she noticed the way Kaia and Mitch kept stealing glances at each other. It wasn’t the first time she noticed them doing this and sensed something was going on between them.

Over the last few years, Kaia had changed. She went from wearing her hair up in a tight bun to wearing it down, her clothes went from plain to colourful and very fashionable. She wore make-up and she looked happy, she had always looked so sad and scared before, when Sergio was alive.

“Children, why don’t you go upstairs and play in your room before dinner,” Kaia said, looking over at Mitch.
When the children were gone Gabriel looked over at his mother, raising an eyebrow. “Why did you send them away? You usually only do that when you have something serious to talk to me about.”

“There is something I need to tell you,” she said, looking back over at Mitch who had gotten to his feet and walked over to her. She took his hand when he held it out to her, taking a deep breath she looked back at her son.
Gabriel’s eyes narrowed, his eyes turning dark and he felt the blood in his veins boiling when he saw them holding hands. He sat back and crossed his right leg over the left one, staring angrily at Mitch. “What’s going on?” he asked, his tone came out harsh.

Kaia felt Gabriel’s anger, it reminded her of Sergio when he became angry. He was still after all his father’s son and she became afraid. She knew this talk was not going to go well and was grateful when Mitch spoke for the two of them.
“Kaia and I are in love and I’ve asked her to marry me.”

“You want to marry my mother?” Gabriel asked, feeling his body tensing up.
“Yes, and we would like your blessing,” Mitch answered, squeezing her hand. He knew from the get-go that Gabriel wouldn’t be pleased, that was why they had kept their affair a secret for the last two years.
Getting to his feet he stood in front of Mitch, his eyes blazing with fury. “How long has this been going on?”

Two years.”

Before anyone could react Gabriel punched Mitch in the face and towered over him when he landed on the ground. “You’ve been fucking my mother for two years and you want my blessing. I trusted you to take care of my family, not to sleep with my mother.”

“Gabriel, stop,” Paige cried out, holding onto his arm when he went to punch Mitch again when he got to his feet.
“Stay out of this Paige,” he said, snapping at her.

“Son, it’s not what you think. We’ve had feelings for each other for years now, but it’s only been the last two that we acted upon them. We love each other and want to get married. Please, let us be happy,” Kaia said with a sob.

Swatting Paige’s hand away he turned to Mitch. “I will never give you my blessing.”

Now Mitch was a big guy and could flatten his boss in a heartbeat but he would never hurt him or his family. “I’ve always been loyal and protected you and your family. I love your mother and if I have to choose between you and her, then I choose her. It would have been nice to get your blessing, but we don’t need it.”

“You’re fired and I want you out of the guest house by the end of the week.”
“Gabriel no, you can’t do that,” Paige said, she hadn’t seen her husband this mad in a long time.
He turned to her in anger. “Stay the hell out of this Paige,” he yelled at her.
“Don’t talk to your wife like that,” Mitch barked at him.
“You don’t get to tell me how to talk to my wife, now get the hell out of my house.”
“Mitch, let’s just go,” Kaia said, taking a hold of his arm.

Paige went over and gave them both a hug. “I’m so sorry that Gabriel is behaving this way.”

Kaia touched Paige’s cheek in a motherly gesture. “I’ll call you later and he just needs time to cool off.” She then turned to Gabriel before leaving. “I’m sorry you feel this way, I was hoping you would be happy for us.”
“Mother, he is only using you for your money.”

“No my son, no he’s not.”
When they were gone Paige glared angrily at him. “How dare you.”
“How dare I what?” he snapped.
“Mitch has been your friend for years, he has protected all of us and you have the audacity to fire him just because he fell in love with your mother.”

Gabriel went over and poured himself a shot of whiskey. “My mother is a very wealthy woman and she is almost ten years older than he is. Clearly he is just after her for her money.”
“Surely you don’t believe that.”
“You know what your problem is Paige? You’re too trusting, you live in a fantasy world where you think everybody is as kind and sweet as you are. When it comes to great wealth you can’t trust anyone, not even your closest friend or relative.”

She went over and slapped the drink out of his hand. “Have you not noticed how they look at each other when they think no one is looking. Gabriel, they are in love, it’s not her money he’s after. Don’t you want your mother to be happy? She deserves happiness and love in her life, you should have embraced what they have together instead of tearing it apart. How can you be so cruel?” she said with tears stinging her eyes.

Picking up another glass he filled it with more whiskey. “Don’t tell me how to feel or how to behave. You’re my wife, you’re not the boss of me.”

She was glad the children were upstairs playing and didn’t hear the argument. Gabriel hadn’t talked to her in that manner since they first got together and it hurt her. “Right now I wish I weren’t your wife,” she said, turning to leave.

“Where are you going?” he asked when he saw her leaving.
She turned around to look at him. “I don’t want to be around you when you’re like this. I’m going upstairs to our bedroom.” She stood there for a moment waiting to see if he would apologize. “So you’ve got nothing to say?” When all he did was shrug his shoulders she threw up her hands in defeat and walked out, leaving him alone.

That night during dinner things were tense between the couple, even the children could tell something was wrong. Anna-Lisa, bless her heart was not one to keep quiet.
“Are you and mommy fighting?”
Gabriel and Paige looked at one another, they always made a point of never arguing in front of them.
“No baby girl, we are not fighting.”
“Then why are you not talking to each other?” she asked, looking back at her father.
“We’re just tired.”
“Where’s grandma and Uncle Mitch?” Lorenzo asked.

“They had things to do. Now stop talking and eat your dinner or there will be no dessert for you two,” he said, giving them both a smile.
Not wanting to miss out on their favourite dessert, strawberry shortcake with whip cream they continued eating. After the meal was over the children went to play, Paige went back to her studio, still mad at Gabriel. So he went back to his office to catch up on some more work.

A little later when she noticed what time it was she went and gave the kids their bath and got them ready for bed. Once they were in their pyjamas she took them downstairs to say goodnight to their father.
His face lit up when he saw them enter his office, taking Anna-Lisa into his arms. “Is it time for your bed already?”
“Yes daddy, will you come up and read us a story?”

He kissed his daughter’s cheek, then looked at Lorenzo. “Would you like me to tuck you into bed and read you a story?” Even though Lorenzo kept saying he was too old to be tucked in and read to Gabriel knew he still liked it.
“Dad, I’m too old but if you want to read to Anna I guess I could listen.”
Gabriel got to his feet, still with his daughter in his arms. “Does mommy want to come also?” he asked, looking at her, hoping she had gotten over being mad at him.

“No, you go ahead, I have to finish one of my pieces.” She went and gave each of the children a kiss and wished them a good night’s sleep. “I’ll come up later when I go to bed and give you both another kiss.”
Later that night: Getting up from behind his desk he went and poured himself a shot of brandy. He knew she would be in bed by now and he didn’t want them to go to sleep mad at each other, it was something they had agreed on. He hated it when she was upset, and the look on her face when he yelled at her tore on his heartstrings. Putting his glass down he headed upstairs. Entering the bedroom he saw she was laying on her side, her back was to him. Removing his clothes he climbed into bed, laying behind her he put his arm around her waist. “Angel,” he said, kissing the side of her neck.

“Don’t touch me.”
“Angel, let’s not go to bed angry.”
“You were horrible today.”
“I was angry. I don’t agree with my mother and Mitch being together. I am sorry for the way I yelled at you though and for the things I said to you.”
“You hurt me.”
“I know, I’m sorry.”
“Not good enough, now leave me alone.”
“No can do,” he said, rolling her onto her back and getting on top of her. When she went to shove him away he grabbed her wrists and pinned them above her head. “You know how turned on I get when you’re angry.”

She felt his hardness pressing against her. “If you think sex is going to get me to forgive you, you’re sadly mistaken.”
In anger, he let go of her and sat on the edge of the bed. “I don’t know what you want from me.”
She sat up. “Gabriel, you fired your best friend. Do you not want your mother to find love and be happy?”
“I do, but why Mitch?”
“We can’t help who we fall in love with. Mitch is a good man and he loves her and you know he’s not with her for the money. Do you think I’m with you because of your money?”
He turned to her, frowning. “No, I never thought that.”

She moved closer, putting her arms around his neck. “I fell in love with you for so many reasons, money was not one of them. I think you know deep in your heart that Mitch loves Kaia for herself and not for her money. Won’t you please give them your blessing? They are family and we need them in our lives, the children need them.”
He lowered his eyes, his heart was torn thinking about losing the two people who were important to him. “I do want my mother to be happy and have love. When I think of the way my father treated her my heart breaks for her.”

“Then go to them, give them your blessing.”
“Will that make you happy and will you forgive me for the way I treated you?”
“It will make me very happy, and I’ve already forgiven you.” She placed her lips lightly against his. “I love you. Do you want to have some makeup sex? I’ll even let you tie me up and do whatever you want to me.”

Smiling he rolled her onto her back and got on top. “Yes, but I won’t tie you up, I want to feel your arms around me. I want us to make love, not just sex.” His mouth landed on hers, his hand caressed her breasts.
She kissed him back, letting him remove her nightgown. She wrapped her legs around his waist, her hands moved up and down his back. She started panting and moaning when she felt him sliding his shaft inside her. She loved how it felt as he moved up and down, his length filling her as he started thrusting deeper and faster. There was something so sexually satisfying feeling his dick inside her, moving and the sound of their bodies slapping against each other when they both reached an amazing climax. She clung to him when he collapsed, burying his face in the crook of her neck. “I love you so much,” she said, running her fingers through his hair.

He lifted his head to look at her. “I love you too, my sweet angel.” Giving her another long and passionate kiss he moved over onto his side, pulling her into his arms. “I’ll go see my mother and Mitch tomorrow. Would you like to go with me?”
“Thanks for asking me, but I think that is something you should do yourself.”

Mitch drove Kaia home, neither was speaking until they got inside her apartment. Seeing she had started to cry he put his arms around her. “Everything will be alright,” he said, trying to comfort her.
“It’s taken years for us to become close, now it’s over.”

He pulled back, placing his hands on her face. “It’s not over. Give him some time to cool off and get used to us being together. He’ll come around, you’ll see.”
“Do you really think he will?” she asked, looking up at him.

He took out a tissue from his pocket and wiped her tears away. “He is a good man and will realize that you deserve to be happy. Right now he is worried about you, he thinks it’s your money I’m after.”
“But you’re not.”
“I believe that deep down he knows that. But now I will have to start looking for a new job and a place to live.”
“You don’t have to work, I have enough money to last us three lifetimes.”
“My love, I won’t live off of you. I will find work again but maybe something less dangerous than being a bodyguard.”
“I figured you’d say that, but at least move in with me. We’re together all the time anyway, so what do you say?”
“I’d like that.”

While she was taking a shower he made supper for them.
“Something smells good,” she said when she entered the kitchen wearing her bathrobe. It always amazed her how a large husky guy like him could cook so well. But what she found even more astounding was that he loved her. She never thought she would find someone to love, or that she even wanted to love. He was so different from Sergio, he was gentle, caring and made her feel beautiful. The scars on her back did not repulse him. When they first made love she didn’t want him to see the scars, the ones Sergio gave her so that no other man would touch her. But Mitch made her show him, he then kissed them, letting her know she was still a beautiful and desirable woman.
He turned to look at her and smiled. “It’s nothing special, just chicken and salad.” He pulled a chair out for her.
“You don’t have to cook, I do have someone to do that.”

“I enjoy cooking, it relaxes me.”
“I can’t cook to save my life,” she said, taking a bite of her chicken. “Sergio wouldn’t let me learn, he said it was beneath the wealthy to do such things as cooking and cleaning. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t keep talking about him.”
He reached over, placing his hand over hers. “I know what a bastard he was to everyone, but not what all he did to you. I would like you to tell me everything, you never have to be afraid of speaking your mind around me.”

“When we first got together Sergio was so kind, so loving but once we were married he changed into a monster. The beatings started right away, he took away my family and friends. He dictated what I could wear, how I wore my hair. The only time he paid me any attention was when he wanted sex, even then he was cruel. For years he raped me, getting excited when I showed pain so I learned to lay there and to not show any emotion. There was no escape from him, no one to help me. Everyone feared him, they would not go against him.”
Mitch watched as she poured her heart out, he knew quite a bit about the man but didn’t know the extent of his cruelty towards her. He poured her another glass of wine, encouraging her to go on.

“When I became pregnant with Lorenzo I was finally happy, I had someone to love. But Sergio was jealous, he didn’t want me to love anyone but him. I woke up one night and felt something was wrong so I went to the nursey. My baby was dead, it was ruled as a SIDS death. But I know Sergio killed him.” Mitch drove Kaia home, neither was speaking until they got inside her apartment. I woke up one night and felt something was wrong so I went to the nursey. My baby was dead, it was ruled as a SIDS death. But I know Sergio killed him.” “I’ve heard the story, but are you sure he killed his own son?”

She looked up at him with tears in her eyes. “I’m sure. When it happened he said that now I would only be able to love him. He also said if I were ever to show love for anything or anyone again he would destroy it, or them. So when Gabriel was born I loved him with all of my heart but I knew I could not show him any love or affection. I did it to save his life, to keep him alive.”

“He knows that now and you two have grown closer.”

“We had, but what if he turns against me, against us?”

“He’ll come around, especially with Paige in his life.”

Kaia smiled at the thought of her daughter-in-law. “I’m so glad she came into his life, she has changed him. He was so like his father until she came along, she gave him unconditional love and taught him how to love. I thank God everyday for bringing her to us and blessing me with two beautiful grandchildren.”

Mitch nodded. “Yes, she truly is his angel.”

“Sergio convinced me that no other man would ever love me, he said I was ugly and frigid.”

“Well he was wrong, you are the most beautiful and loving woman I have ever met. Trust me, you are far from frigid. It’s late, let’s go to bed.” Putting the empty plates into the sink he took her hand in his and led her into the bedroom.

As they laid in bed he told her how he grew up in a family of killers. “My father was in the mob until he was killed, my mother ran off with the man who killed him. I lived on the streets for a while and soon I became a hitman, that’s how I came to work for Sergio, he hired me to do a hit. Then I went to work for him as a bodyguard, that was until I got hurt and he fired me. Gabriel and I became close and he then hired me himself. I preferred working for your son, he wasn’t near as evil as his father. Then when he met Paige he turned his life around, became a better man, one less violent to others.” He chuckled. “Gabriel hasn’t had anyone wanting to kill him in years now.”

She laid in his arms, still finding it hard to believe that he was in love with her. It didn’t bother him that she was almost ten years older than him, but he made her feel like a young girl again. She liked the way he held her, his strong arms wrapped around her. She loved laying her head on his broad chest, her fingers playing with his chest hairs. Closing her eyes she prayed that Gabriel would come around, there was no way she could choose between them.

The next morning they finished breakfast and were sitting in the living room when there was a knock at the door.

“I’ll get it,” Mitch said, putting his coffee down he went to answer the door.

“What are you doing here?” he asked when he saw Gabriel.

“I’ve come to talk to you and my mother. Are you not going to invite me in?”

“That depends, are you here to give your mother a hard time? She was very upset after leaving your place.”

“You really care about her don’t you?”

“I love her.”

“I just want to talk to you both.”

Mitch moved out of the way to let Gabriel enter.

When they walked into the living room Kaia stood up, her eyes filled with tears when she saw him. “Gabriel.”

“Mother, we need to talk.”

“Yes, we do. Would you like some coffee?”

“Yes please,” he said, sitting down on one of the chairs. He took the cup from her hand and noticed her hand was shaking. He waited until she sat down next to Mitch to speak. “I want to apologize for my behaviour yesterday. I was wrong, it’s your life and if you are both in love then I won’t stand in your way.” “Gabriel, do you mean that?” Kaia asked, feeling somewhat relieved.

“You deserve to have love and to be happy after what Sergio put you through.” He looked at Mitch. “If you ever hurt her I’ll kill you.”

Mitch stood up and walked over to him. “You never have to worry about that, I will love and take care of her for the rest of my life.” He held out his hand to shake Gabriel’s who stood up, taking his hand.

“I would really like it if you stayed working for me.”

“I would be honoured,” Mitch answered. He gave him a funny look and then smirked. “You want to hug me, don’t you?” he asked, knowing full well that Gabriel never hugged anyone other than his family.

“No, I don’t,” he said, scoffing. But before he knew it the larger man pulled him in close and gave him a big old bear hug before releasing him.

They all sat down and had another coffee and talked.

“So when are you planning on getting married?”

Mitch and Kaia smiled at each other. “Right away,” they both said at the same time.

“We don’t see any point in waiting, not at our age,” Kaia answered.

“Where will you be living?”

“Here I guess,” she said, taking hold of Mitch’s hand.

Gabriel stared at them and could see how much in love they were. “Mitch, you’ve been with me for years and have protected me and my family. I can’t see you doing a good job if you move away from my home. If I were to remodel the guest house, expand it would you both consider living there?”

“What about my apartment?”

“You could sell it or lease it out, whatever you want. I know Paige and the children would love to have you living close to them. I depend on Mitch to protect my family.

The other two looked at each other and smiled, Kaia looked back at Gabriel. “We would love to take you up on your offer.”

Gabriel smiled. “Paige and the children will be delighted. Now, since you want to be married right away I would like to offer my home for your wedding and reception. I know Paige would be thrilled to help you plan the wedding.”

Kaia couldn’t help smiling. “Wonderful, I would love to have her help so tell her I’ll be over later to discuss the plans with her. Gabriel, thank you so much, you have made me very happy.”

He got up and went over to his mother, giving her a big hug. “I just want you to be happy. Paige has taught me how important family is. For so many years I hated and resented you, I never knew the hell you went through. But now I’ve got the mother I’ve always wanted, I love you.”

Hearing her son say he loved her filled her heart with joy. “I love you too son, I always have.”

Gabriel felt a tremor go through him, he wasn’t used to such emotional scenes with anyone except his wife. Pulling away from the embrace he cleared his throat. “I will leave the two of you now but I would like to invite you both over to dinner tomorrow night and we can discuss the details on the wedding and the remodeling of the guest house.”

“Gabriel, thank you,” Kaia said, wiping away a single tear that fell from her eye.

“It’s Paige you should thank, she’s the one that made me see the truth.”

“Will you not be needing me today?” Mitch asked when they walked him to the door.

“No, you stay here and enjoy the rest of the day, maybe take my mother out somewhere nice.”

“I’ll do that,” he said, putting his arm around Kaia’s shoulder.

When Gabriel was gone she turned to Mitch, throwing her arms around his neck, giving him a huge smile. “Gabriel giving us his blessing means the world to me. I have to be honest with you. If he had continued to be against us getting married I wouldn’t have been able to go through with it. I waited so many years to have my son back and I couldn’t give him up now.”

“I know and I do understand. I wasn’t really too worried, I knew his angel would be able to work her magic on him.”

“She really does have a way with him, you could almost say she tamed the wild beast.” She chuckled. “That girl has him wrapped around her little finger.”

“A good woman can do that to a man.”

“Do I have you wrapped around my little finger?”

Putting his hands on her waist he pulled her close. “Indeed you have my love,” he said, lowering his head he kissed her passionately.

That kiss lit the flame of desire in both of them, picking her up bridal style he carried her back to the bedroom and laid her down. He showed her how much he loved her and how beautiful he thought she was. He had never been in love before, he’d had crushes but never felt this way about another woman. The love he shared with her had slowly developed over the years until he finally told her how he felt and was over the moon when she too felt the same way about him. He now had the kind of love he had always dreamed about.

Thanks for reading this chapter, I hope you enjoyed it. Did any of you think that Mitch and Kaia would end up together? The next two chapters will be about the wedding. There will also be a little something about the children in this next chapter, something that will show the kind of father Gabriel is. Please remember to comment and like.

Watch out for the next episode
