Chelsea Could Freshen Things up Both in Defence And Attack Next Season

The Blues will be hoping to continue their impressive form since the resumption of the English football season when they take on Leicester City In their FA cup quarter-final tie today Sunday 28th of June 2020 by 4PM.

After a momentous victory that put Chelsea into a great position in the Premier League and the wonderful performance over Manchester City with 2-1 win in favour of the Blues.

Attentions now turn to the FA Cup where Chelsea are just three wins away from securing the Lampard Era’s first trophy.

In an ironic twist of fate, Chelsea opponents this time around are also Chelsea closest competitors in the Premier League.

Leicester City is just one point ahead and will be looking to wrap up their European qualification campaign, but also keep their FA Cup dreams alive.

Leicester have managed just two draws so far since the Restart, but their quality and the danger they can pose should be familiar to all by now.

Here, Double Blow for Chelsea Ahead of Leicester City clash today.

Out: Fikayo Tomori(muscle injury), Marco van Ginkel (knee injury)

Doubtful: Callum Hudson-odoi(ankle injury)

For Chelsea, the fitness situation remains the same as before, with Fikayo Tomori and Callum Hudson-Odoi expected to miss another game; the rest all available.

There’s not much time to rest after this one either with a rivalry game coming up on Wednesday against West Ham.

Chelsea are again set to be without defender Fikayo Tomori and forward Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Tomori continues to recover from a muscle complaint and Hudson-Odoi, who is back in training, is unlikely to be match-fit.

Midfielder Jorginho could feature after being part of the squad against Manchester City on Thursday following suspension.

Lampard is expected to make a number of changes for this match as he looks to keep his squad fresh for the top-four chase too, although the strength in depth at his disposal means that he is still able to name a strong XI.

Jorginho was available again on Thursday following suspension but was left on the bench throughout, so he will expect to play his first match since March here.

Billy Gilmour and Mateo kovacic will also be hoping to return to the side in midfield, while Ruben loftus-cheek could make only his second start in more than a year as he continues to build his way up to full fitness following a lengthy injury.

Tammy Abraham has found himself behind Olivier Giroud in the pecking order since the return and this cup game should give him a chance to remind Lampard of what he can do.

Pedro Prepares To Join Roma

Pedro

The departing Pedro could get what may be his farewell appearance having agreed to join Roma at the end of the season, although Lampard could also be tempted to keep Willianin the XI considering his FA Cup record.

The Brazilian has scored 11 FA Cup goals and created five more since making his debut in the competition in 2014, directly contributing to more goals than any other Chelsea player in that time.

There could also be numerous changes at the back with Reece James, Emerson palmieri and Kurt zouma hopeful of chances, while cup goalkeeper Willy Caballero is expected to come in for Kepa Arrizabalagga.

Fikayo Tomori and Marco van Ginkel, the latter of whom has just signed a new contract at the club despite not playing a game for them since 2013, are both sidelined, while Callum Hudson-Odoi is again a doubt with an ankle problem.

A Big Summer Ahead.

It is likely certain that Chelsea could freshen things up both in defence and attack next season.

Chelsea has already completed only two deals and are likely to sign more players most especially in the defense position.

Ben Chilwell, Upamaca and Havertz has been reportedly linked with a move to Chelsea this summer and with how things are moving for the London giant’s more especially now they are almost certain they will be going for the Champions League.

These players might be landing at Stamford bridge before next season.

This 4-2-3-1 formation above shows different strong quality players all lined up here.

With this kind of arrangement, Chelsea could possibly become the best strong and most successful team in the premier league next season.

Kepa Arrizarbalagar is surely a shoe in, with Chilwell, Upamaca, Rudiger and Reece James are all spotted at the defense position.

Kovacic and Kante are both lying deep at the defensive midfield position.

Christian Pulisic is seen at the left attacking wing. The American has scored 7 times in 18 appearances and probably still counting more goals this season.

Havertz and Hakim Ziyech are also spotted here. A reliable point man in the person of Timo Werner guarantees goals.
